Indian Premier League - 29th match Kolkata Knight Riders v Bangalore Royal Challengers 2007/08 season
Played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on 8 May 2008 - day/night (20-over match).

The rain Interrupted match which in last moments turned out to be a thrilling one and it looked like going any side. But sensible bowling by Ishant Sharma assured that Kolkata Knight Rider gets a clinching win . In Last over Bangalore needed 19 from 6 balls which can be get able but Ishant Sharma superb bowling made it assured that Bangalore wont get it and Kolkata win by 5 runs . This is there 1st win after losing three matches in a row.

After Rain interrupted the match,the match got reduced to 16 over per side . Winning the toss ,Ganguly elected to bat first . Losing wickets at regular intervals put Kolkata Knight Riders in check and only allowed them to score 129 for 7 in 16 overs. DJ Hussey was the highest scorer from Kolkata side . He made 26 from 15 balls ,there was some small but valuable performances by WP Saha and M Kartik in end overs. DW Steyn was the main bowler from Bangalore side who not only was economical but also took 3 wickets from his 4 overs.

In reply Bangalore start was also not good and lost their first wicket soon. Due to this Bangalore played a bit slow and it looked like that Kolkata will get a good win. But a blasting innings by Cameron White and Mark Boucher in ends over made the match got to last over. mark Boucher made a superb fifty but his fifty got in vain as they fall short of target . Kolkata only manage to get 124/4 in 16 overs. Kolkat not only bowled superbly but they fielded well.

Kolkata Knight Riders 129 for 7 (Steyn 3-27)

Bangalore Royal Challengers 124 for 4 (Boucher 50, White 30)

Result Kolkata Knight Riders won by 5 runs
